The arrival of the SENNEBOGEN 718 E by AD Euroasia Sdn Bhd marks the introduction of Malaysia’s first mechanised tree care solution. Replacing traditional multi-machine and labour-intensive methods, the 718 E enables safer, faster, and more precise tree removal in urban environments.
AD Euroasia Sdn Bhd, a progressive start-up established in 2025 and a strategic subsidiary of Al Dar Resources Sdn Bhd, provides urban landscaping management services.
In July 2025, the company took delivery of its first SENNEBOGEN machine, the 718 E tree care handler. The management of Al Dar Resources first encountered SENNEBOGEN’s tree care handlers online and were immediately impressed: “The moment we saw them we knew that the SENNEBOGEN is a game changer for our business. There is truly nothing like it in the whole country!”
Among SENNEBOGEN’s tree care lineup, the 718 E was chosen by AD Euroasia for its high flexibility and low operating weight of just 21.4 tons.
Tree cutting and landscape management in Malaysia today is still handled the old-fashioned way. The process is slow and laborious, often involving numerous workmen and outdated machinery.
“Previously I would need at least ten workmen and three different machines – skylift, crane, backhoe – to carry out the job. Now I only need half the crew and one machine,” says Fuad Abdul Kadir, Land Surveyor, Al Dar Resources.
With just a single operator in a fully enclosed and elevated cab, the SENNEBOGEN 718 E can grab, cut, move, and stack large tree sections with ease.
Tree cutting and trimming in Malaysia also often means working around live infrastructure above ground such as power lines and telecommunications cables. With its 13 m telescopic boom and grapple saw attachment, the SENNEBOGEN 718 E can work around cables without touching them.
Fuad adds, “From the elevated cab, we have an excellent view and can place the grab exactly where we want it. There is no risk of branches falling randomly anymore as we can control where it falls.”
Another key advantage is the 360-degree tilt functionality of the grapple saw.
“My favourite feature is the four-hydraulic system. Compared to previous methods using a machine with a 3-hydraulic system, this is an extremely useful feature. We can work faster and keep our crew safe.”
According to Fuad, traffic management during operations has become a lot easier. The 718 E has a small footprint at a maximum width of 3.9 meters and a tight slewing radius of just 2.4 meters. This means that the team just needs to close one lane during operations instead of the whole road.
The mobile undercarriage also allows the machine to travel up to speeds of approximately 20 km/h, making it easy to move quickly between job sites without the need for additional transport.
“It’s compact, but powerful,” Fuad says. “You can finish one job and just drive straight to the next.”
Already popular in North America and Europe, the 718 E’s arrival in Malaysia marks the beginning of a new era in mechanised tree care across Southeast Asia. As the first of its kind in both the country and the region, it demonstrates how tree care operations can be carried out more safely and efficiently in the future.
“We're proud to be the first to bring this technology to Malaysia. It aligns perfectly with our goal to modernise urban landscaping and sets AD Euroasia apart from the competition,” Fuad concludes.
Speed and efficiency significantly reduces tree cutting and cleanup time
Increased operator safety allows precise work around live cables and reduces risk from falling branches
Compact mobility ideal for urban and roadside applications
